Opening Day Program of Events

This Opening Day is a celebration of our 115th year as Princess Royal Sailing Club and especially its members. Please bring family, friends and guests along to enjoy a casual day as outlined in the program below provided to assist in planning your day.
Non sailing members and  guests are invited aboard cruising yachts and available boats on the day. Dress is smart casual or sailing gear if you prefer, for a non competitive cruise around the harbour.

• 12.00    Off the beach sailors join members in the upstairs function room for afternoon festivities,  refreshments and the official opening.  All  “off the beach” sailors are invited aboard                      racing or cruising boats for the afternoon sail.
• 1300     Members, Family, Guests, Crew and Friends assemble in the upstairs ballroom for complimentary champagne & strawberries accompanied with Scones, Jam & Cream, Sandwiches & Sausage Rolls.
• 1330     Official Welcome by Commodore Harold Keay

                        Opening of the club by “Terry Castlehow” (Life Member).

• 1430     Skippers, crews and guests withdraw  to yachts.
• 1500     Yachts assemble and depart for cruise /rally on the harbour.
• 1530     Afternoon Tea served upstairs with scones /jam & cream for landlubbers to view sailing from the upper deck.
• 1700     Sailors return to the dock and clubhouse
• 1700     Bar Open with complimentary snacks
• 1745     Galley will be open for dinner.
