Sailing and Cruising
General Information
All Boats competing in Club races shall be registered, currently nominated or either specifically authorized or nominated by the Race & Sailing Committee, and meet the current safety requirements for the particular races.
Boats must be skippered and crewed by financial ordinary or junior members of the club.
Skippers in crew hands, novice skipper or single-handed races must be financial ordinary Club members. Crew hands are regular members of a yacht’s crew and not regular skippers. Visiting boats may be permitted to sail by invitation of the Race & Sailing Committee and will be eligible for pennant but not for consistency points or trophies.
Crew Eligibility (AYF Racing Rule 55)
Yachting Australia prescribes that except in an International event. Any crew member that sails in more than 3 races in any one sailing season, shall be a member of a Club affiliated to MYA and a member of MYA and Yachting Australia.
It shall be the responsibility of the person in charge of any boat to ensure that all crew members on board for each race comply with this prescription.
